I have a client who currently sends credit card customers to authorize.net's payment gateway. The step between completing the order and making payment is where the biggest drop-off in the conversion funnel occurs, not surprisingly.
Does anyone have good info on how processing cards on-site with SSL payment page affects conversion versus using a pay pal or a payment gateway? Speaking from my own experience, as someone who's had credit card info stolen online, I'm less likely to bail if I can use pay pal or google checkout.
The stats will be skewed unfortunately since there are usually changes in the marketing etc but I am sure that some of the websites that take polls might ask that question in a general sense.
It should only be the cost in the SSL cert and re-programming the cart to use the API to fix this solution.
