With the recent changes (no more header/footer, too much emphasis on their support #s), are you going to drop 2checkout?

Or why would anyone ever start with 2CO...?

Didn't lose the header/footer when moving a site to V2, however the release level has now made the site owner think twice about continuing with their service. It has put the issue to the top of the pile and forced them to face "you get what you pay for". I think this will also deter some startups from using them, the release level amount would cover the cost of using a authorize.net dealer.

Everytime I check 2CO payment to seller, I find 2CO deducts its banking fee and also holds some extra money for "Reserve". Can anyone tell me what it is? When we can get the "Reserve" money back?

V2 currently has a release level of $600.00 this can be changed using the banking wizard and agreeing to their terms.

My release level is $100, you can i did change this.

While 2Co may be less than perfect I do think that its due to teh level of success that they have achieved and not being able to keep up.

We were actually with 2CO for over 2 years....but all their rediculous requirements for the "upgraded" system finally forced us to make the leap to an authorizenet account.

...Now I'm wondering what took us so long ;-)!

Instead of getting our $$$ once a week, we now get a deposit daily...fees are less than 1/2, and the system is much more tightly integrated with our cart.

Frankly, the only plus to staying with 2CO (IMHO) would be if (for some reason) you are unable to qualify for your own merchant account. Other than that, 2CO has removed all the advantages their system provided a mechant selling physical products.

They actually have some interesting potential with the feeds they're going to do for Yahoo Stores / Froogle / etc.

If they're smart and do that seriously, it could actually work.

I'm thinking of hanging onto them as an option (I have paypal as well), but adding a real merchant account as yet another option.

We had a Froogle feed generator added to our cart for less than $300 in programming fees (an easy job for any decent database programmer). Click a button....save the file, and ftp it to your froogle account. Whole process takes less than a minute.

As for Yahoo shopping...they seem to crawl our products just fine on their own (although they generate much less sales than froogle - for us anyway (not that froogle is setting our sales on fire either).

In retrospect, I wish we had moved to our own merchant account a long time ago. It sure does make cash flow much less of an issue.

I am interested about it, but I have no merchant account, can I sign up with AuthorizeNet? If I can not, do you guys have better payment gateway than 2CO, which does not require merchant account?
