I run a service website that charges clients a monthly fee for being members. What is a good way to get these clients to submit updated credit card information when their original credit card is set to expire?

A good way is with a system message that gets displayed when they log in and when on their account details pages.
Another way would be to send an email out reminding them however people have become conditioned to ignore emails about updating credit card info.

Any credit card "reminder" that I recieve that isn't from an explicitly white listed source gets zapped unopened.
