Can someone recommend an SMS payment processor and explain how this works?
We need to accept small payments $0.50-$3.00 for premium website features, and many of our users are teens that would prefer phone payments to credit card payments. Our company is based in the US, but we would like to accept payments from the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia and Philippines.

Ideally, by clicking a button on the website, users should be prompted to enter their cell phone number. Then they would either get an SMS at that number to which they would reply with the payment confirmation, or they would be shown a short SMS number on our site, to which they can send SMS and pay.

Hi,

Have you looked into other payments as well, SMS payments don't leave you with alot of money in your pocket after processing, commission fees ect'. I would look into other payment methods that are tailored for your needs- youth, micropayments, no credit cards. One has recently gone live in the UK.

You might look for US Shortcodes and see what is available (in your favorite search engine)

Corey, I looked at it out of curiosity

I was thinking that it might be of some interest a client.

But (a big BUT!) it looks to be very expensive
about $1000.00/monthly to lease one.

is that what you had in mind?

We used to do this in the UK but be careful because alot of the people that supply these services are small companys and usually in the end they go bust and you lose out on at least a months money.

I cant remember the name of the comapny now but try typing in sms payment processor in google.
