Need Help Starting My First e-Commerce Site

Need tips, and guidance on starting an ecommerce site

Hi all, all feedback is valuable to me.

I'd like to build an ecommerce site to sell some stuff on the web. From my research these are the following things I should pay attention to.

1. Get a webhost that comes with a shopping cart.
2. Get a shopping cart that automates invoicing and other admin stuff.

It sounds simple when I read them, but I don't know where to start. Can anyone give me some tips or advice? Did I miss out on any areas that I should pay attention on?

I would also take into account how many different products you will be selling. This can be a major factor in choosing a shopping cart system. Be sure to leave space for growth!
