My UK hosting company wants £200 to renew Thawte

Is this a rip-off or what?

OK, I know there are alternatives to Thawte (but if we change it's a big job - various stationery would have to be reprinted etc)

My UK hosting company, Netcxtxrx is holding me to ranson. They want £200 for a Thawte renewal. On Thawte's site you can do it for $150 (circa £75) and other ISPs seem to be charging $170. My hosting company says I can't do it myself because on a shared hosting package they have to set it up on the server. Fair enough. But £130 for "setting it up"? I'm livid. Is that what others here are paying (those on shared hosting)?

Our ISP does the same thing. They charge for the conveience of providing this service. You have to ask yourself, is $50 bucks a year worth switching ISP, if the rest of their service is ok.

The £130 additional cost is not far off $300, not $50.
