My client wishes to launch a new website using an off the shelf ecommerce script but with their own look and feel.
Does anyone know of an ecommerce script that is template based that can be easily customsed (by my clients graphical designer)? The script doesn't have to be free but at the same time not too expensive.

Just had a look at the zen-cart templates. They appear to be full of code and there's hundred of them. What I'm really after is a cart that's slightly less functionally rich (fewer templates) with clean logic/presentation separation in the templates.

jshop is definitely on the right tracks. Any other ideas?

stay away from Monster / Ecommerce templates - they are terrible code.
I'd choose a shopping cart that is customizable, like OSCommerce or spin offs (XCart, Zen Cart, etc.. ) or a package like Able Commerce. Good luck!
