Would this help or hurt sales?

Do customers want to be reminded "We don't store your personal data on our servers" as they type their shipping info into a form?

Or is it best placed in a "Security" page where you explain all of your practices.

Never once in 9 years of ecommerce have I had a customer ask where we store personal data. Have you ever seen such a notice in a B/M store or especially a restaurant where theft is far more likely to happen?

Excellent point. I did not think of this. :)

Customers love to misinterpret.

Post "We don't store your personal data on our servers" and somebody could read "Orders and other data may be lost here".

Better write "We promise not to lose your credit cards data any more!" :-)
