My company is thinking of buying leads from a third party but some information is missing. We were thinking that we get a dialer that calls the person (the do not call is already checked) and have them add in the missing info through the phone using the keypad. I have not seen any software that can translate the phone tones into a text number. I am not taking about voice recognition but just recognizing the 1 or 3 being punched in and able to be iinked into a database.

Actually thats a pretty fundamental feature of even the freely available PBX systems such as asterisk. IVR's do it to a minor extent as scripted within the PBX but most all major providers have a scripting language you can use to incorporate touch tone or verbal commands into an application however you see fit.

I use Asterisk and asterisk AGI (asterisk gateway interface) to run an interactive voice prompt system that will take an order number and lookup all tracking numbers attached to that order number and read them back.
