Its an interesting idea for product search. You want a scarf to match your earrings or hair color?

[labs.ebay.com...]

I could see them offering complementary or colors that contrast on the color wheel as part of "related items". ;)

That erroneously implies that product color can be accurately rendered online. But there's currently no way to precisely match a scarf from Vendor A with earrings from Vendor B, even with professional photography. And most eBay pics are awful right out of the camera.

Perhaps eBay knows of improvements coming soon.
