At the moment, I'm having to manually accept or decline payments - this is a bit of a pain, and the liklihood is I'll never be refusing a payment. Is there any other reason for having the option "Ask me first" on, or is it perfectly safe to just have it always accept and convert to sterling for me?
These two (in Payment Receiving Preferences) I don't quite follow (and the FAQ seems to keep refering me back to "buyer protection"):
Block payments funded by:eCheque for website and Smart Logo payments. German bank transfer for all website payments except eBay.
Is there a bigger chargeback fee for credits bounced by either of these or something? Nothing on this PayPal page actually explains to me why I might want to block them. Can someone perhaps explain, so I can make the decision?
Users who initiate payments from the Pay Anyone subtab of the Send Money tab (If checked, you may enter an Alternate Payment URL for your buyers)
Again, no explanation offered by PayPal, so I don't really have the information at hand to make the decision.
If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks,
TJ
That aside, I have always used the "accept from anyone" method and never had any serious problems.
Using a paypal logo on your payment page - in addition to other payment methods acts like a filter and visitors self approve or deny themselves.
That and PP's hyper aggressive security policies make accepting payments through them the safest bet on the net for me.
So far my PayPal experience has been pretty good (quite a number of payments have come in and no problems so far), but I couldn't find sufficient information on their pages/FAQ's in order to deal with a couple of decisions they have asked me to make. I've emailed them some user feedback about that.

A good tip - thanks. I'll do that.
