I would like to get our eccomerce site more interactional and more than just a click then buy site. The last couple years we have become the top company in our industry...selection, service, positioning...but want to add some ideas that are not really straight ecommerce.

Here are some additions I am thinking about:

1/ Forum
2/ Ratings & Reviews
3/ Articles, Games & Trivia

Personally I like to see ratings and reviews on websites. Works well for anything entertainment related.

You could also have a blog and allow moderated comments.

I would add short video/audio clips of your product usage.

Do you sell flute? record a short audio clip of you (the CEO or someone important in the company) playing it, or better yet, video it how you make a fool of yourself, like "Here's a clip showing how lousy our CEO is with this thing, DON'T be like him!" or play the flute while doing crunches, on top of the snowy everest mountain. Millions of possibilities here to be either serious, funny, or controversial!

Do you sell Orange? Shoot a video of the sexiest, or ugliest lips you can find, and let them eat a slice of orange, with some new-age music in the background. Or something like "here's what a client used our orange for after he purchased", and a video of a guy throwing 6 oranges in the air, and blasting it with his shotgun sending juice all over the cornfield.

The possibilities are endless! And it will be so much fun for you, your staff, and your visitors (repeat and new).

AND! Anything with videos must have comments section. Think Utube...

This is just my personal opinion...
