Shopping Cart compatibility issue?

Having done my homework, I have narrowed my choice for shopping cart software to either LiteCommerce or X-Cart (both form same company). As I am just about to purchase, the sales rep says their software isn't compatible with Godaddy or Verio (my two hosting providers). I find that hard to believe and suspect it is an attempt to get me to use their hosting service. Anyone here using LiteCommerce or X-Cart and have GoDaddy or Verio? Any issues?

Cheap hosting providers probably don't have all of the php mods that are required installed.

I also highly recommend running an e-commerce site on a cheap hosting platform unless that web host has experience with commerce systems. Most if not all credit card companies require some PCI self compliance audit and i don't think you could pass running on a godaddy server

can't edit my post but i highly recommend AGAINST running an ecommerce site on a shared server/cheap host
