Anyone had trouble with this? I know there is nothing we can do, but just wanted to see if this is a common problem, and how long they took to resolve the problem.

Common Problem if you ask me. Most of my USPS notices and tracking numbers don't get updated until the item is received :)
This year has been great for delivery times though so i can't complain. Not a single missed date/lost package for USPS and thats a first for me!

USPS is not always giving notice that the item has arrived at the post office. It has been problematic this month as clients have to provide a tracking to the post office and argue with the clerk that they have not received the package even when signature confirmation says that the package is at the post office. - strange
