Site needs gift certificate sales/not currently e-commerce

The site that I am working on currently is not an e-commerce site and we now need to sell gift certificates through it. If anyone knows of a company that handles this or a shopping cart that can handle this efficiently and cost effectively please let me know.

There are a number of off-the-shelf shopping carts that do gift certificates. Do you need more than just the gift certificates? If not, perhaps you should take a look at some of the free scripts available at places like hotscripts - or just hire a programmer to develop the system.

Thanks, they currently want to only sell certificates. In the future though, I can see them wanting to place more product available online. I would like to have an open source, affordable, secure cart. Any suggestions on that?
