I like the shopping cart, but not the Web hosting

Aside from the recent crash at Yahoo, I do like the Yahoo shopping cart, but I don't like the Yahoo Web hosting platform that goes with it. Yahoo won't let me place store tags on a non-yahoo website, so I'm thinking about simply operating two websites -- (1) a static html site (on a Web host of my choice with "how to order" buttons linking to a Yahoo store), and (2) the Yahoo store itself.

Has anyone ever tried this arrangement? It seems worth the extra $10/month to have a separate website for content...yet still have a way for customers to click over to my Yahoo store to make a purchase.

You can definitely do it; however, it's going to be a major headache. For instance when you change a price, you're going to have to change it in two places.
