Anyone else see the email come out about the 4.6% rate hike plus increase in residential delivery fees and such?

Is this a continuation of expensive energy costs or more a realization of the falling dollar?

Possibly a combination of rising fuel costs, and the Teamsters wage increases built into their current contract.

If you have a UPS salesman, open a DHL account, switch to them temporarily if that's feasible and let UPS know. Your salesman will come back with better rates.

I'll probably do that.. amazingly Fedex ground just gets cheaper and cheaper for me while everyone else jacks up their rates.

Byron...what % off list rates are you able to get with FX ( home delivery)? What type of volume? OS fees?
We recently went back to UPS because they dropped oversize fees and just more or less charge dimensional..

What? No more surcharge for oversize.

Everything that leaves here goes on dim weight or actual weight, whatever is greater. But we have lots of products in very large boxes and the oversize charges are killer.

Watch this carefully. We did better on some items and worse on others. More losing than winning.

This is the annual UPS rate increase. Check out the USPS rates. They are very competitive. There is a little known international discount of about 8% if you use Click and Ship.

Yeah the FeDEx OS charges were killers...were spending 10% of sales on shipping...its definately an area that needs to be perfected...its makes or breaks a year end profit...
