A refund in a relatively big sale by 2CO

I wasn't aware of it - not a complain, just a note

2CO made a refund to one of our customers before I could even gather my docs to defend myself.

My response: oops ok.

On their site though, where an interesting thread [2checkout.com] is going on, a 2CO staff Sebbe has got something interesting to say:

That said however, there has been far to many times where our Customer Care agents have canceled so called fraud sales when we shouldn't have.

Just a note :)

U need to get another processor as I wouldn't put up with not being in control of our credit card chages.

If there is a refund to issue I will issue the refund not my processor. If there is a charge back I will either fight the charge back or accept the loss.

Crazy to allow a credit card processor over your account...

I had a reason to stay with them for this particular site.

I wonder if the 2CO staff member still has their job?

2CO is good for what they're good for. They take a lot of control but they serve a wider market with less complication.

Those are some of the disadvantages of using a third-party CC processor like 2CO. If you think your current business could support an independant merchant account, it is the next logical step...

5.5% on sales? I think this is a good reason to leave.
