Is it just me or does CanadaPost charge ALLOT for international shipping? (when comparing rates to USPS)

You are correct. Keep in mind Canada is the second largest country on the planet and our population is spread far apart. Hence the reason our postage costs more.

The USPS is superior if you ask me. Americans complain a lot but that is because they have never used our system.

USPS does a really good job competing with the major couriers and in many cases offer
"better bang for the buck", in my opinion.

Maybe we should complain more then? Maybe that is the secret why American's have it easy! haha

("most" products are 1/3 cheaper in the states, its crazy!)

I live in Canada on a border town so I ship from the US after a 15 min on the bridge and a quick commercial stop at customs.

Shipping to the US takes me 30 minutes / day at most.

It's cheaper to send a package to Ontario from Maine than it is to ship the same package in my own town to my own town. That's how crazy the CAD rates are.

Its all about "economy of scale" and fierce competition in the US.

That is pretty crazy if you can go accross the pond and ship back into Canada for lower rates!

I guess USPS has a special bulk rate with Canada Post (and I mean BULK) so they give them crazy prices!
