You should make sure that this rates are for Card not present/Moto merchants

1.85% is for the check debit card transaction ( like money is going from your checking account) i have confirmed this several times and it is like that. But what i am thinking is how many ppl actully use ther debit visa cards to purchase online? also if we compare the 2 companies which one is better?

I assume you have checked and the shopping cart you will be using is able to use the card processor you are looking at?

I really can't give you an answer on that I use cardservice. What I would do is search for problem terms with the two companies mainly downtime and see who has some bad reports in the forums.

If you really can't find any I am sure you can find some merchants using their gateway and contact them.

I can tell ya on cardservice I have had an account with them for 5 years now and their down time has been maybe 3-5 hours during that time.

So to really make your mind up ask someone using their gateway that will be the best way to find the answer you are searching for.

Also look at the non-qualified rates and any other charges.

Make sure the gateway is only a monthly fee and they don't charge you any transaction fee either

We chose First Data as well and have been very happy with them. LoudCommerce is a reseller and that is who we went through. They gave us a good rate we felt and have lowered our rates after some time processing with the company
