This week we launched our website, which is targeted to a very specific standardized test in the United States.

We were happy to see our first sale today, but it is someone from Belgium. My business partner is skeptical and thinks this person might be wanting to buy our product, copy it (it is like software), and resell it, saying why would a Belgium need this U.S. only product.

What do you guys think?

(we are using a simple paypal account and totally didn't account for international business btw)

without knowing the exact product you are referring to..

i have sold many items over the years to belgium. i do not have watchdogs but also have no reason to believe they are fabricating the products they purchased.

belgium is not a third world country, why does your partner think of Belgians in a negative light?

also:
what if your belgian buyer is actually an american living in belgium?
what if he/she has relatives living in the usa?
what if he/she likes american culture and simply wants to collect anything and everything pertaining to such?

when i first launched my website i was also skeptical of the first few purchases. over time you are able to develop a pattern of actually suspicious purchases. for the first bit, i recommend some trial and error to test the waters.. unless you are selling high ticket items and cannot afford to do so.
