I ran across a Flash based automated help system that you can customize and add to your site. you can program it with questions and answers and it speaks to your visitors. I can also be programed to walk them through processes on your site.

For the first time tonight I ran across a site that is actually using it, and although I didn't spend any money, the site was really impressive because of it.

Without it, the site was just the same as one of the other millions online, but because of the interactivity it made me want to ask questions and look around.

Does anyone use this type of system, and does this stickyness do anything for your site? or your sales?

Does it speak automatically once you enter the site or do users have to initiate it?

I really liked teh idea behind this and have thought about it myself, however the cost was way to high.

A site ive used has a the owners voice saying thankyou your order will be with you in x number of days.

Now that I liked.

The microsoft office paper clip was the first thing that came to mind.

The joke video of the guy attacking the microsoft office paper clip was the next thing that came to mind.

"Heeeeeeey! It looks like you're writing a letter! Heeeeeeeey! It looks like you're writing a letter! Heeeeeey!" etc. LOL!

Make sure it's artificial intelligence, not real stupidity!
I liked the owner's voice idea too, but beware that it doesn't issue a sudden unexpected, chair-over-backward deafening burst!
