I got the word today - it requires prior acceptance in the AdSense program - leaving this additional feature open the nefarious invalid click dilemma.

Interesting to note that the site asks for quite a bit of confidential information such as bank account numbers over a non-secure connection.

my best take is that Google thought they had to come out with something to boost AdSense to counter Microsoft's announcement of MSN Search - and of course - the Microsoft competitor that will take aim on AdSense - and I mean dead aim
