Hello,

Anyone out there care to share any business experience after Free Shipping offer? Do you sales drop dramactically? What about you CPA?

I find after Free Shipping, the business hits a trauma. Everyone almost comatose. CPA skyhigh. Conversion half. We are still cheaper than everybody even after including shipping fee.

What is "CPA?"

We do brief periods of free shipping coupons directed to our regular customer email list. Results are nothing spectacular. Sales rise of course, but profits are about the same.

When the promo ends, sales return to baseline or perhaps slightly ABOVE.

Mostly we use free shipping as an excuse to communicate with old customers.

I've found that sales volume often rises with free shipping, but since the shipping charges are being 'eaten' things tend to even out.

This really depends on the niche, though, and how high ticket items are.

I have a client who sells racing suits. Free shipping on them works extremely well because they are very cheap to ship. Helmets or scales on the other hand are much more expensive.

Hello,
I offer free shipping when they purchase 3 or more items. It has worked extremely well for me. But I sell light weight items (vintage sewing patterns). I have dozens of sales every day and I would estimate 80% use the free shipping offer.

Regards,
Janet

Yea, a good move I guess. Might encourage them to buy more too.

I think that people don't like to hear get this and you will get that for free. Every time they are offered such thing they presume that there is some sort of scam. That is my explanation to this.

I mostly export using the postal system. I get a 10% discounts on all shipments. At the end of the month, this 10% adds up to almost a $1000 or more a month. So, free shipping is not an option for us. Anyone cares on how much you make off shipping?
