Greetings,

I am the webmaster for a veternarian practice in the Midwest. The owner of the clinic wants to set up an online pharmacy.

This will not be a "standard" shopping cart. There are a number of variables:

1. A dispensing fee (always $x, except on pre-pack meds where there is no fee). This fee is HIDDEN.
2. A per pill fee (depends on med).
3. 1&2 are calculated together.
4. A minimum $ amount applies to each individual perscription.

Example 1:
Refill (30 tabs) on Temoril for Fluffy:
Dispensing Fee: $8
Per Pill fee: .25
Calculation: $8 + (30*.25)=$15.50
Minimum perscription charge must be = to $12.00 or higher.
Total Perscription Charge: $15.50

Example 2:
Refill (5 tabs) on Potassium Bromide for Fluffy:
Dispensing Fee: $8
Per Pill fee: .20
Calculation: $8 + (5*.20)=$9.00
Minimum perscription charge must be = to $12.00 or higher.
Total Perscription Charge = $12.00

Continuing...

5. A minimum purchase of $20 applies to all orders
6. Owner of clinic wants applet where he can update meds and change prices.
7. Login for each user is preferred.

The site is presently hosted on a 3rd party server.

I would like recommendations on how to best accomplish this, including pre-packaged software.

I look forward to your suggestions and comments.

Thanks,
Chris

Isn't this against the law in the US?

No, it is not illegal for veterinary applications. I should mention this will only be for existing clients of his clinic and only for refills.

Thanks,
Chris

Sorry, I didn't mean to cast aspersions. It's just that I only just bought some flea stuff that has recently gone off prescription here for pets but still all the sites selling it were in Australia and NZ.
