PayPal echeck clearing times

16 days to clear

I had a customer make a PayPal payment via an echeck on June 12. Today I was checking to see if the check had cleared -- it had not.

The expected clearing date was listed as June 28.

16 days seems like an extended time for a check to clear. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this.

That definitely seems excessive. I don't remember anything longer than 4-5 days for us.

Then again, my stupid bank (soon to be ex-bank) started placing a 9 busines day hold on any checks over $5,000. (I had the account for 14 years, and they still pulled that crap.) I even confirmed with the issuing bank that the money was funded within 2 days. Closing that account today!
