Greetings,

Have any of you tried marketing your stores on tshirts? What have your experiences been? What sort of costs are involved and does it become more worthwhile when printing in the 500+ range?

How effective was the marketing?

We give away thousands of shirts per year in one of my businesses. It is an attempt to build branding. Our cost for a US made, one color imprint shirt is $3 on white (500 pc orders). These shirts are excellent quality and have lasted me three years with frequent use (I wear them to work). We have sampled cheaper shirts from Asia, but the quality is not there. I was told I could get the same thing for $1, in quantities of 5000, but the poor quality kept me away. What good is a shirt that someone throws away?

It is slow but it seems to be effective. The customers like the quality of the shirt, and often wear them when we visit (B2B sales). My banker has even purchased a couple from me - he didn't want a conflict of interest, so he paid.

Make sure the logo is eye catching, use a quality shirt (we are using Gildan) and be patient. It also helps if the website name is a unique, made for ecommerce word. Think eBay or Google or Skype. Make it something easy to get to #1 in the search engines for.

Thanks for the information.

I didn't realize you could get the cost down to $3 WITH custom printing on it (in color I presume?).
