How can I put a price comparison service into my site?

My site specialises in a specific product and I currently use price comparison sites where my users can research prices. They pay me me about 15p per lead.

I'm looking into the pheasability of having my own price comparison service built into my site that only compares prices of the particular products my site is about. I can buy all the data in a CSV file but I have no idea how to use it.

I want to be able to get commission on all sales generated and to refine and add information to the products shown to build a really useful service.

I've built my site myself but only using html and css. I have never looked into php javascript or database stuff. Is there any software that can process the database and track sales? Or would I need to hire a programmer?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Washerhelp,

I would look around to see if you can find any products that might work, even partially, as a jump off point.

I have a suspicion you won't find much though, just my gut.

It isn't overly difficult to do but it could become very involved. If you wanted to get into php/database stuff then this might be a good opportunity, though if time is limited you may just want to try and hire someone to do it for you.
