Drop In Shippable Good Sales Week Before A Holiday?

A client has seen some huge drops in sales Wed & Thurs. Anyone else experience drops in sales like these preceding holiday weekends? The client wants to know why but I figure people aren't trying to shop and have things shipped if they think they will be out of town. Specifically with this being a type of consumer electronics. Anyone else seeing similar?

holiday timeperiods and consumer psychology play a pivitol roll in sales. Hell - 75% of our business is in nov and dec (of course we sell unique gifts) If someone has found a sales area that isnt affected or fluxuate please let me know - that would be great.

fridays in general and especially fridays before holiday weekends are our slowest regular sales days, absent the actual holiday day.

traffic is lower on those days, and conversion is also below norms.
