[edit reason] please - no specifics [/edit]
I did a trace on the 1bu.com and it traces to the numeric:
202.96.140.119
which when viewed in my browser appears as:
http://www.8U8.com/
So... who is http://www.8U8.com/
any thoughts? I've contacted my tech support thru my hosting
company to see what they have to say about it. In the meantime
I am doing an IP block on 202.96.140.119 to see if that will have
any effect. I'm open to all help and insights here. Thanks!

That's real easy. Make a small change to your page, date or whatever.
Call up the 1bu copy and see if it stays the same or makes the same change.
Disallowing one DNS # probably won't have much effect at all, either way. - Larry
They are catching
it live on each display. All site updates show up asap on their priated
page. I have contacted my hosting company and they seem to be at a loss as to what to do to help put a stop to it. I have blocked the IP numeric
for 1bu.com on my server, but that has no effect. I am open to all suggestions that are within my abilities as a webmaster to put a stop to
this. Emailing them of course had no effect. Any ideas please?

After reading this thread the other day I checked a site that features some of my father-in-laws work. I looked at 1bu address and got a error page. I went and checked the genuine site and found it was down.
This morning I found the genuine site was back up and lo-and-behold, the 1bu.com version was up and running as well.
Ok, I'm a newbie so many of the things mentioned in this thread are a bit over my head (though I'm anxious to learn), but does this suggest some kind of realtime/non-cached relationship between geniune sites and their 1bu counterparts? Does this suggest a method for frustrating this type of thing? (blocking ip addresses was mentioned).
And thanks to all for attending to this matter. I'm off to lodge my compliant with Google in the manner suggested earlier in this thread....
These are the same people with the weasel worded "fair use"
(without permission) disclaimers at the bottom.
