Has Google (or anyone else for that matter) ever published industry norms for website traffic and ecommerce statistics generated by Google Analytics? It is nice to be able to get bounce rates, time on pages, visits to conversion, conversion rates, etc. But how does all of that stack up when compared with the averages for other companies in our sector?

Excellent question. We just added GA to our site two days ago. I'm not sure I even have it running fully yet or what the first stats mean. We also run the old Urchin 5 which does a nice job on individual product sales info, including trends.

No doubt G has the info you want. Keep watching their Tools as they sometimes release very juicy beta features for a limited time.

I certainly would think G has released very general info on things like bounce rates. Anyone know where we can learn more about GA metrics in a commerce setting?
