Greetings,

Do any of you guys use your ecommerce store to just capture user information (cart items, address, CC, etc) and then manually run the CC transaction once you ship the item? (and maybe even input or import the information into some other backend system).

This makes sense if you don't have the items in stock and have to backorder the items and don't want to charge original amount to the CC.

You can do a pre-authorization, that's what that is there for. Of course storing the CC number, you will need to be PCI compliant, at least Level IV depending on the number of transactions done yearly. And then you cannot store the CCV number
