Hello community!

I have already a merchant account, SSL, payment Gateway, hosting etc. Now I need to integrate the whole ecommerce funtionality to my website.

I am about to hire a developer to integrate the thing for me.

What do I need to disclose to my developer to effectively integrate the payment services. Without disclosing any critical password or other info that may be used later in a bad way?

Authorize.net game me a Login API and password but I now this can not be shared. So what I need to give my developer?

What kind of access does he need to integrate the payment processing?

Thank you

With they gateway you mentioned, there is a key that the developer might need. Usually this is found in the virtual terminal.

We have not integrated them in awhile, but there should be no need for you to give them access to the control panel.

You can, and then change it once they get the information. Your username / password though is not needed during the API call

Either you or the developer will need to put the gateway into test mode at some point. So, if you don't want to give them the access info, you should go and see how to do it. They'll also need to know the transaction key (I think that's what it's called - maybe the same thing Corey alluded to).

I've integrated Auth Net for a number of businesses. What I usually do is get the username/password for their merchant login from the client. (the username is required for the AIM integration). Then I can generate the key and adjust the settings. When I'm done, the client changes their password.
