How long does it take you?

I would like to know the amount of time it takes you to setup a non-ecommerce site to become e-commerce enabled.

I am assuming:

1. You are using an off-the-shelf ecomm. package that you have experience with.

2. The rest of the site is finished.

3. There are less than 20 products being inserted into the system.

I am curious to hear what your ballpark estimates are for amount of time it would take to do this.

Thanks!

It all depends. I have gotten customers set up in one week while others take two months

Using a software I'm familair with and all the other pages are complete making the site ecommerce enabled should take about a week based on 20 products or less. Most of the time would be spent in populating the database with product information.

To clarify - what I am asking is in hours....how much time is spent on average. Thanks!

Well if the images are OK - I usually walk the customer through one. Plus it also depends on how many images are going to be uploaded for that product. And if most of the items are the same, you can also duplicate most of the items. But I would say no more than 6 minutes on each product.

Then you want to link some of the products together for upselling - and maybe linking into UPS or USPS.

So right there you are looking at about three hours. There are just lot of assumptions. When I first answered you - I was including the design, getting the merchant account, etc
