How can ebay check whether I paid the seller?

Hello everyone...!I would like to make a site like ebay and use Paypal (!sounds like ebay itself!) for the transactions between sellers and buyers. Is there any automated way to check if a buyer payed the seller so as to leave a comment afterwords? And a secord thing.... How can I eliminated the danger that someone would take the buyers money and never sends the item he posted for in my site? Is there anything else I should take into consideration? (i live in europe). ThnkZ for your time!

p.s. I develop sites using PHP,Mysql,Apache....

You might be able to get notified of the payments using PayPal's Instant Payment Notification (IPN). Refer to PayPal's Integration Center for more information on how IPN works and how to set it up with your site.

One solution is Paypal's Instant Payment Notification IPN.

--------------
How IPN Works
When a customer pays you, PayPal posts a notification to your server at a URL you specify. Included in this notification are all of your customer's payment details (eg. customer name, amount) as well as a piece of encrypted code.

Check this for more details: [paypal.com...]

Paypal also provides an API for more complex needs. Not sure if this could solve your problem though..

What makes you think you can duplicate eBay (over $6 Billion in sales per year worldwide) in Europe - where eBay already exists - and be successful?

What are you doing that is so unique that I would use your site instead of eBay?
