Customers statement shows debit & credit from auth.net charrges

Hello,

I am using Authorize.net as my gateway. From Monday's batch, 3 customers have repeated seeing a separate charge and a debit in the same amount. I have not processed any credits for these customers and wondering if anyone has seen something similar lately. Is the pre-auth being handled differently now?

Did you do a pre-authorization? If so, pre-auth are shown on the issuing bank side and it is dependent on the issuing bank, not the gateway that you mentioned.

Some issuing banks will show a pending charge. Some might now show the pending charge. And some might even show the merchant's name. I have seen it at least these three different ways on some cards of mine.

Tell them to fax a copy of their statement. You'll never get it.

I actually did get a screenshot of their bank screen and I did see that. I have had 5 customers report a similar issue from only that date. And 2 of them have since told me that they see 2 charges and a credit (all for the same amount), summing up to the correct charge. Still not sure why.

It's the paper statement you need to see not the online one.
