How many different products do you guys offer and how do you see the number of items you offer affect your conversion ratio?

Hi Tonearm, We offer 1000s of products, but are now focusing on the promotion of best sellers and axing 100s of poorly selling items. This is still in the testing stages, but customer feedback implies the "can't see the wood for the trees" theory.

When I was a child I use to sell golf balls on the one of the courses near my house. Early on I learned if I didn’t give them to many options I always sold out of golf balls faster. I have learned this to be true for my online ventures. Have you ever been to a restaurant with a huge menu and had difficulties choosing because you had so many choices that looked good? Now I don’t believe this to be true for every online store but it has worked for me. The only thing you can do is try it out and look at the results.
