Mail forwarding: Should I recommend it?

I currently only ship within the US. Should I recommend that my customers sign up with a mail forwarding service so I can ship to an address in the US and the forwarding company will send them their package from there?

There are even affiliate programs available from mail forwarding companies.

Although it appears to be in Florida. I'd like to find something closer to California.

I don't know.
As a customer I would think a bit strange that I would have to sign up with a separate company and pay a $15 monthly fee or $132 for a year memebership, plus pay postage to you to mail the item to the forwarding company, and then pay postage again to get it from the forwarding company to my country.
Seems like a lot of money and effort to get your product.

I think I would simply do a new search and find a company that ships internationally.

Just out of curiosity why do you only ship within the US?

Hi axgrindr,

I'd like to ship internationally but I don't have it set up yet. I have a flat-rate shipping charge right now and international shipping would require me to record the weight of everything I sell and set up an entirely new system to calculate shipping charges.

Well, then I would say yes, you should point them to a service like that.

I live in Spain and have a mail forwarding account in California which I use all the time for online purchases that do not offer international shipping.
If some of your international customers aren't aware that this option is available it might be good for them to know about it.
