Hey I recently had a discussion with a friend of mine about whether its better or not to show the credit card logos on customer billing pages.

An argument can be made either way for whether or not showing card logos on a bill page are necessary if you accept all major cards.

Has anyone done any testing or have any reports to show that putting credit card logos on your billing page hurts or helps conversion rate?

sometimes you have to show them, worldpay require them.

i dont have any data or anything but I think its better to have them, then you know exactly what is accepted. cards like maestro aren't always accepted and the logos show clearly whether they are or not.

I agree. There is nothing worse than filling in a form or two only to get to the payment section to see they do not accept Amex or whatever.

The way I see it is the more you accept the better for the customer, so show it off.

I don't think I understand fully: what is the argument for not putting the images up?

"An argument can be made either way for whether or not showing card logos" LOL! Argument? I can't imagine any significant downside to showing logos. Either way, I assume the effect is trivial.

Am I missing something?

I think you have to show them. I know MasterCard has a specific log for providers and one for merchants.

But I think you should always show the method of payment

I still think that the very sight of the big credit card logos puts customers in 'buy mode'
