How to add a text field in product description

Heya,

I need to find out how to add a text field within individual products page so that the customer can type in some text that they want personalized on a product.

If someone can explain how or point me in the right direction, I would be very appreciative.

Yes, X-Cart has a user forum and a pretty extensive manual. It is possible but you'll need to define this input field a bit better. Is it for one product only or all products or somewhere in between?

I did check the forum, but haven't found an answer yet .. still digging. Thought I would use all my available resources (forums) to find the answer as soon as possible.

I need a text field for a small handful of products that can be personalized ... etched engraving ...
So it's not on all products ... just a select few.
