Market research regarding credit card fraud

What I'd like to know - any of you with e-tail sites - how are you fighting online credit card fraud? Do you do it manually? Are you using a service like Paily?

Thanks.

It may be to late, but the biggest way to fight credit card fraud, is to run a business where credit card fraud is almost non-existant, particularly niche markets.

This is one of our key criteria when deciding to open new buisnesses.

If you are already stuck with your line of products, then one step up from AVS is Maxmind or other services that rate a credit card risk from a scale 0 to 10, by geolocation, email, country, address type, etc, etc. You can then decide at what risk level you want to automatically process transactions, manually check risky transactions, and ban high risk transactions.

We use LinkShield - which profiles the customers and VBV for the Visa customers. This helps to cut back on most fraud
