Hi All

I've a client who would like to do repeat billing but money is tight so she doesn't want a full blown repeat billing system as the banking and my setup fees are a lot more.

Is PayPal a decent option on this front, i know WW use it and it seems fine but that's me using it, is there a better option out there.

The tranasctions will be UK based
Generally in the £10-£30 bracket
The same value every 3 months/6 months/ 1 year.

Is it a viable option and are people happy to use it?

Cheers,
hughie

I'm going through this research right now too.

From what I know of PayPal, if your client doesn't want a full blown merchant account with SSL cert, then that means you're going with recurring payments on the PayPalm Website Payments Standard. That means that the customer will go through your site, be brought to PayPal's site, be forced to open a PayPal account if they don't have one, and then the customer has control over the amount they're paying every month. Pretty lame.

Does anyone know a solution where a trusted third party keeps customer credit card info for recurring billing, and makes it easy for us to make changes if the customer changes their credit card from say VISA to Mastercard?

Yes that happens only once and from then on paypal automatically debits the customer's paypal account.
