easy e-commerce steps

does anyone have a good site or easy steps to follow (more rule of thumb type guidelines) for a good start with e-commerce?

basically, i am looking for info pretty much spelled out like:

1. build a shopping cart.
2. get a an account with Authorize.net or another gateway service.
3. process orders! live happily ever after...

ok, #3 might be a few months off, but that is basically what i'm interested in. i am a graphic designer that is getting clients that are interested in e-commerce and i would like to keep their business.

Looks like you may want to hook up with a back-end programmer or online marketer. That way you can outsource part of the work without loosing the client
