Does it work?

I am trying out a 800# with forwarding to my business #.

One thing I never thought about is that my caller ID now only shows my own 800# for all incoming calls forwarded through the 800#.

I would really like a to keep the 800#, but I don't want to give up my caller id. I am not sure if it is possible at all to forward the caller information with the # or if it's just my provider who doesn't do it.
How does yours work?

With ours, when we make a phone call out, it shows the phone number (local number) - and not the toll-free number. You might contact your phone company to rectify the problem if you got the number from them

Depends on the 800 service. Customer calls from my 800 sent to business line show up as "Unknown" in all cases. But depending on who your 800 number provider is, some will forward the caller ID name and number information to your business line. You might shop around for a different service and ask about that feature specifically. I am in the same boat as you.

If anyone know a toll free number provider where the caller id will work please sticky me.
