do any of the open source ecommerce packages integrate shipping rates? in other words, is there a plugin for oscommerce or zen cart to interact with the usps.com and fedex.com API's in order to get real-time shipping rates based on the customers zip code and yours?

i.e. customer lives in zip 44444 i ship from zip 90210 and they have bought 5 lbs of merchandise and i add 20% to the weight for packaging so i want the customer to be able to see (and choose from) the fedex ground and 2nd day rates and usps first class, priority and parcel post rates on a 6 lb package from 44444 to 90210.

can any of the cheap ecommerce packages do this?

I'm sure there's oscommerce "modules" to do just that, but I'm convinced flat rate shipping is the way forward - just mark up heavier goods to compensate.
As a shopper, there is no bigger turn-off than not knowing shipping costs in advance, then finding out shipping on a $50 purchase is $15.
That's just me, though.

Yes. Oscommerce interfaces with UPS and FEDEX.
I assume Zen-Cart does as well.

The customer can see what their freight will be prior to checkout or commitment.
