Mass check printing

Can't believe I can't figure this out.

I need to send out 200+ checks each month to different users of my website. Ideally, I would like to create a backend function that would export all current member balances and addresses to a .csv file that could be exported into a check printing software program or sent to a 3rd party check processor, then press a button and let the checks start printing.

If I did the printing in house, ideally the check would print so I could fold the paper and make the address show through windowed envelopes. If it was a 3rd party check printer, I would like to upload the csv to them securely, and they would then handle check printing and mailing for a small fee. All checks would need to go against my merchant account.

I have been searching the web for the last few hours for a company or program that would let me do this easily this with no luck, so either my search skills are lacking or there is nothing like this out there…

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't suppose you're a Quickbooks user?

I don't suppose you're a QuickBooks user?

I plan on moving to QuickBooks one day from Quicken and could move to move to QuickBooks sooner if this is a viable solution.

I looked into this a bit today. Ideally I would want to push a button that would create a web connect file (.QFX) and import it into a QuickBooks account. Then QuickBooks would have some type of internal settings to print 200+ checks with addresses at a time.

Unfortunately, it seems .QFX file is proprietary and I could find no information on creating one. Probably need a special license? Maybe I can import some other file type?

Then it becomes a question of what universal fields to export for QuickBooks...

Name
Date
amount
address1
address2
City
State/province
Postal Code
Country

I would think that QuickBooks could pull my account numbers and return address internally to print on the check and tri-fold letter that I could stuff into a windowed envelope.

I am not anxious to spend big money on a program that I am not even sure will solve my problem. But if there are those here that do what I want with QuickBooks or maybe even Quicken, I wouldn't mind hearing your basic process.

QuickBooks Pro 2006 has an import tool that will allow you to import Excel, Web Connect, and IIF files as well as time sheet related files. I haven't ever used these so I can't vouch for their effectiveness/completeness. I can tell you that the check printing features are pretty darn good and you should be able to do what you're asking. Batch print is easy and QB can handle a wide variety of standard checks plus the check templates are customizable. I print out checks for windowed envelopes on a regular basis.

You might check out Bookkeeper™ 2007 Software - to see if it will work out for your needs. It is also compatible with the LinkPoint Gateway so you can use that to process cards if you have it
