Ecommerce in Africa - Full of challenges

Anybody who have experienced ecommerce in Africa

Hello,

I just started a "split-marketing" or "marketing to diaspora" type of ecommerce business.

I am facing the following challenges:
1. No national laws regarding ecommerce - No idea about license issues
2. No payment processors

You are certainly in for an uphill battle. It will be incredibly difficult to get a merchant account out there. If you do, you will be paying a high fee and possibly leaving money in an escrow account.

Unfortunately, Africa has a very poor reputation on the Internet. Most of your scams and fraudulent credit card transactions take place over there. It will be difficult to get people to trust.
