I have this customer whose paid me via paypal, he's paid me twice and wont accept that fact.

every refund I do he sends back. (!)

My biggest worry is that he'll get his card statement and do a chargeback 'on that dishonest web site', what are my chances of beating a chargeback on that basis?

I had a simmilar problem recently, someone paid me twice via paypal for an Ebay auction item, I sent them a refund which they accepted. Then the next day they paid me again! Duh! I duly refunded that as well which they again accepted. They never sent a single email to say oops or anything, left me good feedback though. I guess some people don't like to communicate.

Simon.

I imagine keeping all the emails go a long way on something like this.

Make sure you have the documentation to show that you made the effort to return their money. If for no other reason than for you accountant.

Gotta hate customers who send money for nothing.

Essex, it might be that this is someone who's never had PayPal send them a "refund" email. I've had this happen with several customers (even ones that have been on the net awhile), and it's always been because they don't understand the emails PayPal is using to notify them. I usually just pick up the phone and call to explain instead of trying to email back and forth to get it straightened out.

Its only for around $15 so a phone call is out of teh question. I have emailed him previously explaining that he has paid.

Ill hang on to the money and put a note in his parcel telling him to contact me for a refund.
