Just did a search and could find nothing on Angora. Anybody have any experience on it? Functionality, SE friendliness etc?

Maybe you are misspelling it:

AGORA

It is very basic...

I installed AgoraCart on a development server just a few days ago so I could review it on my site. I'm not impressed. Installation was easy, but who cares if you hate the store once it is installed. A plus for beginners is that is doesn't require a database such as mySQL. I haven't installed a full catalog, so I can't comment on access speed, but it would be hard to beat the speed of mySQL when dealing with a large inventory. I haven't found a lot of free addons, and the link to the addon store on the Agora page is broken.

It is possible to create a nice looking page with Agora cart, but in my opinion, it is easier (notice I didn't say easy) using osCommerce. osCommerce also has more addon (called contributions) and a more active support forum.

Everything here is based on the free option for AgoraCart. For a $55.00 you can become a lifetime member. I find it incredibly odd that a lifetime membership does NOT include all updates. Updates costs another 49.00 a year.

If I had to choose between osCommerce and AgoraCart, I would go with osCommerce.

Cheers,

Thanks for the info, very useful. Looking for S/Cart for smallish site, so thought simple may work. I'll try the osc again....
