software for managing a small business in EU

Microsoft Small business

Microsoft has the Small business Management suite and Quicken has Quickbooks. Both are good accounting packages and management packages for small businesses (inventory, taxes, payroll, accounting statements, invoices, payables, etc).

I have contacted both MS and Quicken but neither supports VAT in the different EU countries. Microsoft has indicated there is no plan to release the small business management package for Switzerland or the EU. I know there is Ababacus (but that costs 1000€ +.

Is there any total business solution like Quickbooks for MS for the EU markets?

we currently use quickbooks but we are not happy with it. we are in the process of moving over to sage line 50. quickbooks uk version has some problems not present in the US version. oh, and it doesn't calculate VAT properly either for the UK or anywhere else.
